New Painting

This is one of the paintings that I will have for sale at Finster Fest that is not available in my etsy store. It is acrylic paint on a 24 x 30 inches unframed. The edges are painted dark blue so it can be hung unframed.

update!

Well I have exciting news! Looks like I'm finally going to get to do my first art festival. This coming May 31rst and June 1rst I will be participating at Finster Fest. I am so excited and so scared. (more about that later) I have been trying to make things like crazy but it is hard when you have two little ones to look after. A lot of the cards and some of the paintings have been greatly influenced by motherhood.

For example I have become obsessed with coloring with crayons. Therefor I have been making lots of cards with crayons. Here are a few.

mommy needs to paint

I LOVE LOVE LOVE being a mother. Lukas is perfect in every way. He does however demand 100% of my attention 100% of the time, and how can I not give it to him? He is my firstborn son and I am smitten. We spoil him rotten but I couldn't have it any other way. He is only a baby so when he cries I pick him up. When he whimpers I pick him up. So, I have no time to do anything else. Considering I didn't feel like painting when I was pregnant (and I was worried about the fumes) I haven't done an oil painting in over a year. depressing. Until now. so this is my first attempt, remember it's been a while. I'm not sure if I'm finished with it yet, but this is what I have so far. This is actually a painting I've been wanting to do for a long time. The first pict is taken with the flash, second without. Just trying to get the true color - it just doesn't come through in the pictures. Also, unfortunately the painting clashes with the wall color.

the painting is in keeping with the nautical theme we have throughout the house now. we just got a fishing net and hung it up in the kitchen. I love the starfish. sadly, however, the painting was actually supposed to look like this photograph I took of a shadow of a ship. what is my brain thinking?
